"I choose to work in abstract portraits because I want people to see themselves in different parts of my work. I want them to see the part of themselves that is searching for self liberation."

"As a performer I have always been a keen observer of the human condition. I’ve always studied the way we move, emote, change and evolve. When Covid arrived l explored the idea of transferring  my performance art into my painting. I was able to explore the different stages of the human condition through abstract portraits with colour, texture and movement. I work mainly with acrylics and acrylic marker on paper and canvas. I choose to work in abstract portraits because I want people to see themselves in different parts of my work. I want them to see the part of themselves that is searching for self liberation."
